The Folks Behind the Mini Market

Started by partners in business and in life, Russell Harwood (he/him) and Alex Hezik (she/her), The Local Good Mini Market is a low-waste grocery pop-up that provides our community with mindfully-selected products from Kentucky and surrounding states, while simultaneously alleviating the responsibility of packaging from the consumer.

Russell is a University of Oregon alum and has a background in business and agriculture. He currently works for Nathan and Michelle Howell at Need More Acres Farm. Russell has a passion for cooking, gaming, and football. He hopes to help build a more connected Kentucky here in Bowling Green.

Alex is a proud (naturalized) Kentuckian and WKU alum. Her background is in sustainable agriculture and, unsurprisingly, she has a passion for all things food-related—gardening, food equity, baking/cooking for herself and others, and trying new things when traveling, to name a few. It’s very likely that you’ve seen her behind the Community Farmers Market Market Booth, as she currently serves as Market Co-Manager.
